Purchases
What is free, and what does Pro unlock?
Your first 5 workouts are free. After that, starting a workout needs Pro, paid once, with no subscription. GPX import, your history, progress and exports never lock.
I bought Pro, but the app asks again
Tap Restore Purchases on the Pro screen or in Profile. Use the same Apple Account you bought with. Pro works on every iPhone signed in to that Apple Account.
Backup and new iPhones
Are my workouts backed up?
Yes. Back up to iCloud Drive is on by default, in Profile. The app saves a copy after each workout and shows when the last copy was made. iCloud Drive must be on in Settings.
I got a new iPhone
Install RunFormula on the new iPhone with the same Apple Account. On first launch, the app finds your copy and asks whether to restore your workouts.
The app says iCloud is full
Free up iCloud storage. Meanwhile, new workouts are saved on your iPhone without a copy.
GPS and outdoor runs
Distance or pace looks wrong
- In Settings > RunFormula > Location, allow access and turn on Precise Location.
- Start in an open area and give GPS a few seconds to settle.
- Tall buildings, tunnels and dense trees can weaken the signal.
Tracking stopped with the screen locked
In Settings > RunFormula > Location, choose While Using the App or Always, and turn off Low Power Mode during your run.
Treadmill
When you start a workout, choose Indoor / Treadmill. Distance comes from your iPhone's step counter, so keep the phone on you, in a pocket or an armband. Allow Motion & Fitness in Settings > RunFormula.
Import, export and delete
- Import: use Import GPX to bring in workouts from Garmin, Strava or other apps.
- Export: open a workout and choose Export as GPX, CSV or JSON.
- Delete everything: in Profile, use Reset App. This can't be undone.
Privacy
RunFormula has no account and no server, and collects no data. See the details in the privacy policy.
